My Heroes

My heart goes out to all the
brave men and woman who
lost their lives fighting for
our country.
If tears could build a STAIRWAY
and memories a lane, I'd walk right
up to HEAVEN and bring you
HOME again.

Noah's Arc

We had family home evening again
and it was my turn to do the lesson.
It was on Noah's Arc. Mandy made
potatoe boats. For those of you who
haven't had them, this is how they
are made. Cut your hotdogs in half
and fry them. Put mashed potatoes
on top. Then cover them in cheese.
You can put ranch or ketshup on
them. This is one of MiCayla's favorite
meals they have at her school. It was
a hit YUMMY. They resembelled
Noah's Arc.
I had the kids build hammers for
their craft. They were made out
of a dowel, a rock, and bees wax
string. I explained to them
that this hammer was probably
similar to what Noah used.
During the lesson they took
turns hammering a nail with
their home made hammers
into a piece of wood to add
on the arc that we finished.

Helping to build the arc.
(VERY INTENSE) hoping they
wouldn't turn that hammer
into a weapon. LOL
I stayed up all night cutting pictures
of animals out of books to place in
the arc. Around 12:30 at night as
I was cutting away, this little voice
whispered in my ear saying, MOM
your beanie babies!.WOW what was
I thinking. I can only think and know
in my heart that Shelbie was with
me knowing how frustarated I was,
trying to get the pictures together
and how simple that small still voice
helped me out.
I gave my grandchildren 6 beaines
each to place in the arc. As they
placed them in the arc we counted
2 cows, 2 horses, 2 sheep, 2 snakes,
2 elephants ect. Every time the
story talked about it raining,
I had a water bottle and I would
spray the kiddies. It was Soooo
fun to be on my end LOL. At the
end of the lesson I told them how
Noah built a altar and worshipped
God.That he was so thankful that
the Lord had protected him and his
family. Then he looked up into
the sky and saw a beautiful rainbow
and heard the voice of God speaking
to him. God told Noah that the
rainbow was a promise that He
would NEVER AGAIN destroy
the whole earth with a flood.
Mandy made banana splits
for deseret.Reminding the
grandkids that these to
represented the arc.

Here is the dove that Noah sent
out of the arc and returned with
a olive branch which let Noah
know that the waters had gone
down and the plants were
beginning to grow.
I hope the kids and grandkids enjoyed
their night as much as I did. I am so
blessed to be able to share the gospel
with them. LOVE YOU TO THE
MOON AND BACK!!!

Family Home Evening

Every Monday, We get together and have Family Home Evening. We take turns planning the event. This week was Mandy's turn. The lesson was on David and Goliath. Mandy brought over yummy porcupine meatballs which represented the stones, with salad and french bread. After dinner we painted rocks. While they were drying we had the lesson on David and Goliath.Mandy did such a wonderful job. It has been fun teaching and learning the gospel as we go. After the lesson Mandy had a poem and it was to be sung as a rap. Well, I volunteered to do it. It was crazy. Well, so crazy that MiCayla about wet her pants laughing. Tulson was rolling on the floor. Tom was looking at me like WHAT THE HECK. (I guess your never to old to rap LOL. Ed I think was in shock, and Jake didn't realize what a weird mother in law he really had. Anyways, after the lesson when the rocks were dry, we painted on sayings and explained to the kids that if they ever feel sad or feeling they needed some extra help to reach into the sack and read the words which read.(God,Family,praying,strength,David). I hope we continue to do this. We all need God in our lives and through prayer we hope to strengthen our family and be humble as David was. Thanks my little family for sharing your life with me. Love you all!!!

Mother's Day To Mom

A mother's heart is a special place, I hold dear within my heart.
I know you still are with me, even though we are apart.
Bless you for your kindness, Mom,
Your love and guidance too.
So many times throughout the day,
my thoughts will turn to you-
I think of all the fun, and happiness we shared,
And just how great it makes me feel,
to know how much you cared.
So when I look into the stars in the sky so far above,
I hope you hear me whisper how much you are really loved.
Happy Mother's Day in Heaven Mom,
Miss And Love You Forever....Peg
